The Japanese have always been hygiene conscious and there are various innovations revolving around toilets. From smart bidets to warm toilet seats, you’d think you have seen it all, but would you use a transparent magic toilet? Yes, you heard that right. The transparent toilets designed by Shigeru Ban; a Pritzker Prize-winning architect are made of an opacity-changing “smart glass”. Tokyo unveiled the new toilets in two public parks to address the issue of “dark, dirty and dangerous” public restrooms. The tinted glass toilet stalls become frosted and opaque when occupied and locked properly.
